My Lionel

Isn't he's cute? This write-up may look so childish but I am just so fascinated to my new companion in my pad.

My Ate and I were in a mall one Saturday, just strolling and looking for some things we don't know what we really want to buy. We passed a store named Tickles and wola.. I saw Lionel with the rest of the animal stuff toys. He was looking at me and saw him that he's the only lion on that section.

If you can remember, I wrote before that my favorite animal is a lion and I used to have lots of lion toys before. Seeing Lionel as the only lion that time, I just grabbed him as if he's telling me, "please bring me home now".

Since the time I bought him, I no longer feel lonely whenever I go home (well, my padmate always arrive very late). Seeing Lionel sitting at the center of my bed facing the entrance of the pad, I sometimes tend to smile seeing him. This sounds quite crazy but Lionel brought a different aura in my pad for the reason he always accompany me and having myself the feeling again of being a childlike.

I Am Sorry ...

President GMA made statement yesterday to put a period on the wiretapped phone conversations scandal. Three (3) strong words "I Am Sorry" were stressed out by Mrs. Arroyo which so many reactions popped out from all walks of life. Some said it made her more credible because of her honesty and give herself now no room for mistakes. Others however reacted negatively stating they may have forgiven her but she still has to face charges and they don't believe that she was sincere in asking forgiveness to the people. With these, they really want her to resign from her position.

Oppositions aggressively pushed the said scandal to get the attention of the filipino people and achieved their goal to oust Mrs. Arroyo from her position being the president of the country. This had been led by the former presidential candidate, Sen. Panfilo Lacson. After the president's statement, some of the administration's officers are also suggesting her to resign too.

Things happening now in the country are quite scary and greatly affect our economy. Wiretapped scandal is just one of the negative things which opposition are really making a big news but there are so much problems which need to be addressed. With the President's decision to confirm on the wiretapping scandal, it made everything worse. Generally, what we really need now is to help each other and focus on the improvement of our country. It may sound difficult to have such kind political environment but that's the only solution for us.

Should Men Cry In Public?

I was watching a Sunday talk show where an actor was interviewed. After series of sentimental questions, actor began to cry where million of filipino televiewers witnessed it. He seemed crying with natural feelings and no sort of acting ingredients on it. But then I asked myself, "Should men cry in public?

Crying is a natural way of releasing one's feelings and emotions. Scientifically, it prevents heart ailments simply because it releases the tensions inside your body. But again, "Should men cry in public?"

Personally, I grew up surrounded by men in the family and everytime a brother of mine cries, my Daddy always scolded him not to cry in public. It marked in my mind then that men should not cry in public... they can cry...only privately. Even my sister and I were not allowed also to cry publicly. Honestly, it's difficult to control your tears not to fall but I learned it. Just simply shut off your heart and use your mind instead.

Going back to the question, "Should men cry in public?" I'll stick to my Dad's idea that men and even women shouldn't cry in public. Hence, do it in a private place instead. Crying is a manifestation of showing your emotional side which you will sound subjectively. Controlling your emotions, you tend to be objective to your conversation and makes you more focus to the things you want to share.

So, to the men out there who cry publicly, try to control it. If I can do it, you can too.

Daddy's Little Darlings

Dear Daddy,

Happy Daddy's Day. How time flies and it's been almost two (2) years you are not with us.

When I was a little girl, I have always admired you to all the things you've done for us. I always obeyed you and wanted to be like you with your strong personality, strong mind with a big heart and most of all never fear to fail yet always stand up with chin up. I always wanted to be called your little darling but I know I was not. It was Ate and she will always be your little darling. But I never jealous of it because I know you also love me the way you love my sister and that all matters to me. I know sometimes I disappointed you but you have always understood and accepted my decisions. With this kind of attitude of yours, I appreciated it so much because you taught me to be independent and learn the things in life on my own.

You may have said only little advises to me unlike Mommy who does all the nagging in the house. But those advises are significant to me and until now they are all in my head. Your words were always the rules in the house and I thought we were living in a communist place. But I would like you to know I appreciated them so much. With your rules, I would not be in my current position. Same like you, I am strong and always use head over heart in all matters.

There are so many words that I would like to describe you but what is most important, should I have a second life, I still want you to my Daddy. I love you dearly and missed you so much. I thank you for everything. Like Ate, I know I'm also your little darling in my own little way. One day, we will be together again and I'm looking forward to it.

Archie Comics

Since my grade school days, I have been reading Archie Comics. I save money from my weekly allowances just to buy a piece of it. Sometimes I borrowed from my classmates and traded comics to them also.

This attitude of mine continued to high school until early years of my college days. Nevertheless, there were some novel books that I read also during those times such as the works of Irving Wallace, Sydney Sheldon and not to forget the tweetum collections of Sweet Dreams. But Archie's has been my favorite past time should I just want to bum around and take life easy.

This comics has been famous to every child and until now, I can see them in the bookstore which makes me surprise on high cost of it. Who would forget the characters such as Archie himself, Jughead Jones, Reggie, Veronica, Betty and Moose. I can assure you that you find these type of characters also during your school days. You may be Reggie, the boastful type, or Moose, the peahead one. Well, my favorite is Veronica, the filthy rich selfish gal. Whoever the character that you adore most, I am sure Archie Comics has a great part of your life.. so do I...
